4G-LTE not ready for Sprint, do we have to still pay?

If anyone has been following, Sprint's network isn't ready for the 4G-LTE system.. our new Evo's will only run on the 3G network.  I wonder if Sprint will force us to pay the $10.00 per month for a speed package their own network isn't ready to provide?

Thoughts?

You dont pay $10 extra a month for 4G or LTE.  You pay it for a smartphone.  Doesnt matter if you are getting 3G only or not.  I would recommend not getting a LTE phone is you dont want to pay the premium data until you get LTE in your area.  Depending on the areas it can be 2 more years before you see LTE

The charge is for the smartphone itself.

The prior posters are correct the 10 dollar fee is due to the fact smart phones on average use a lot more data that feature phones.  Data use is not capped or slowed by sprint.   The cost is the same for all Smart phones with the exception of the Replenish.  If you do not wish to pay for premium data you would need to use either the Replenish or a feature phone.
