HTC HD2

The "Leo" is actually the HD2.

I hope one of the USA network carriers like Sprint decide to release the HD2. This device has many people interested in the device and has created a lot of buzz on various cell phone forums. To me, this is the first device that can truly overtake the revered iPhone based on features.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Here are some videos to explain why this phone is getting a lot of attention. You may notice in the video that the phone is labeled as Pro.Three, however this was filler text since the official release name of HD2 as been revealed.

The HD2 would be a great item to release Q4 2009 or Q1 2010 in the USA even though the HD never was released in the USA.

For some reason, the insert link is removing the /baw/ from the URL. Hopefully this link will work correctly.

a trio of nexus one videos

i have to admit it is a great phone but its not overly impressive like the hd2 or some other awesome phone . lovely screen and very fast but it does what any other android can do . i say the OS is a little different . but its still google . its not a phone to just overlook though . but i would expect google to really distance their device from the other android phones . i mean thats what the hero did with sense . im sure the nexus one is something in the making though .

thanks for those vids! that first one showed me a lot of things i hadn't seen before.  i will be passing on this phone but def keeping an eye on it.  although it has a 3.7" screen, most of that is added to the height of the phone, meaning the keys are still on the small side.  i want some official announcements on the HD2 and when we can expect it

I still think the HD2 will get a free upgrade to WinMo 7.  HTC CEO Chou stuck his neck out there putting WinMo 6.5 on the phone and saying that HTC wanted to take care of WinMo first, so it would be real shady for MS not to honor that.  Plus, the HD2 could have easily run on the Android OS platform which I think would have sold better if that were the case.  So I think the HD2 was originally designed with WinMo 7 in mind (all of the hardware and software for the phone would indicate that) and unfortunately, WinMo 7 was not released in time as it was previously projected to be (stupid MS!).  I think it would be real bad business for HTC if the HD2 did not get the WinMo 7 upgrade as rumored.

It does not matter. As soon as WinMo7 is out, the cooked roms will be available for HD2

I must say that I am jealous of those animated wallpapers for the Nexus One.  The one with the leaves and the water rippling in the background is pretty awesome.  Thanks Nate!  I'm sure someone on PPCGeeks or xda-developers will cook up some sort of ROM for the HD2 to emulate the interactive animated wallpapers on the Nexus One.

Just in case this wasn't posted here before, here is a link to Engadget's walk through and first impressions of the Nexus One:

Anyone else confused about Sprint's upcoming announcement at CES like I am?  It seems like most outlets are reporting that Sprint, LG and Microsoft are making a joint announcement, but when I read carefully at some of the invitation particulars at some sites like here: http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2009/12/23/sprint-to-announce-windows-mobile-wimax-phone-january-6th/ it sounds like Jan 6 is an annoucement only with Dan Hesse and Steve Ballmer.  And Jan 7 is a joint event with Sprint and LG with Brooke Shields.  Then you hear all these rumors that the new LG phone is going Android.  So, I'm hoping these are two separate announcements and I guess I will still dream that Sprint will surprise me and announce a winmo7 HD2 with wimax   Should be an interesting week...

OK we took the time to chat with you a couple of months ago.   Surely by now you've had a chance to find out what is the most popular topic on the Buzz forum all about.

Did anybody notice that several smartphones dropped off of Sprint's Online offerrings this morning?  Could it possibly be to allow room for a couple new phones with CES starting this week and the competition rolling out new devices over the next couple of weeks?  We could only hope so...

I'm really trying to be upbeat.  However, I have this sinking feeling that we're going to see a pink Palm Pixi and a bunch of underwhelming LG and Samsung phones.  And then Sprint is going to tell us with a straight face that they have "the most robust phone lineup in the industry".
