The Leo is almost a replica of the Supersonic, the Supersonic might be a little shorter in length but that's about it other than the Android OS. It can't get much smaller than 4.3". Here's a link with all the specs enjoy.

Sorry, but you have it wrong, it is the other way around.  The Supersonic is the replica of the Leo (HD2).  The HD2 came out first and will be out in the US before the Supersonic drops, probably at least 6 months from now.

Re: HTC SUPERSONIC...info :)

The HD2 is already out in the US, the problem is Sprint isn't getting it, but they are getting the Supersonic which is the same thing only better because it will be running on Android.

If you read my previous post, I agree with you it will be 4 to 6 months before it hits the store.

Well, it's a matter of opinion.  I don't think Android is better than WinMo, but that's my opinion.  WinMo fits my business needs better than Android right now.

Drool Android lovers...drool!

I can't wait until MWC to get the clear and correct info on the "Supersonic".  Some say it's the Android equivalent to the HD2 and some now are saying it's the Bravo that was leaked late 2009.

I've been gearing up for a Pre for a while now, but the extra screen real estate would be awesome. If it's released in March and WiMax is indeed in it, it may sell me as I do business in Chicago periodically.

nothing really new here but read the part under the map . it sounds like good thinking id Sprint was to roll out like this though don't it ? I mean that's the mindset carriers should have right ? http://fonefrenzy.com/2010/01/17/htc-supersonic-wimax-android-phone-coming-to-sprint-walmart-smiles/

The proposed 4G rollout sounds like an awesome idea.  If true, that would prompt many Sprint customers to begin investing in/purchasing new WiMax phones.  The idea seems cool, but if 4G/Wimax isn't in your area (like me) it makes no sense to buy an expensive WiMax phone.  The Supersonic sounds like an awesome deal except for the Android OS.  I'm going to stick with the HD2.  Hopefully Sprint can get all 4G towers up (at Walmart stores) by the end of this year and next year come out with an awesome WinMo 7 phone (HD3 !!!).  Then I'll be coming back to Sprint.  Until then, adios!

I hope for everyone else's sake that the Supersonic drops sooner than later!  I know I don't want to wait an extra 6-7 months on top of the 6 months I've already waited for something better than the TP2.  My TP is dying now, so I need a phone now!

Just something to think about friends.  I wonder if this will push a release date back...?  Unless Sprint doesn't care about expanding its WiMax network more before releasing the Supersonic.

Re: HTC SUPERSONIC...info :)

Certaintly looks like Sprint is going to carry the premier smartphone available anywhere in the U.S. market. Couple that with faster speed than any of its competitors and they may have a winner on their hands.

Lets hope that their downmarket corporate strategy doesn't leave the upmarket without the same degree of dedication. They are definately spreading the cash around on the lower-end (re: Boost), one needs to look no further than the amount they are spending on the Superbowl [and upcoming Nascar events]. If only they'd realize there is a much bigger market share to be had by convincing corporate customers and technology enthusiasts the benefits of their offering.

A nice advert for the release of the Supersonic combined with this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p29MG7wn4F8 would have been one heck of a start. Instead we get to watch ads dedicated to the much less discerning technology crowd [its like they've decided to do the opposite of what has made Apple so successful].

Sprint doesn't rely on Alcatel et al. for its infrastructure so the article is somewhat a non-event. Also if you look at the comments it makes the article almost meaningless concerning Sprints discernable future. As far as pushing back release date on this phone it is utterly irrelevant.
