I know the chances of this are slim. I read in the EVO 4G forum that they might get ICS because Thunderbolt (Verzion website mentioned it) would be getting ICS. How different is the Shift comapred to the EVO 4G? I know it has less memory than the EVO 4G but would the Shift be so different that it isn't able to handle ICS?
It's never going to happen. Support for the shift has all but dropped already. The device "End of Life" will be coming up within the next 3 months most likely. It's a lower-end phone and will not be getting a full system upgrade like ICS coming to it. As it is now, it's not looking like the "HTC Loading" issue will even be fixed completly with a smaller update.
According to HTC's website, it does appear that the EVO Shift will not be getting the ICS update when it becomes available.
