Anyone else get a half black screen on their HTC Bolt, I was checking online and saw that a several other people have as well. I've only had the phone for a month and already it is broke. Half the screen on the vertical axis goes dark and now it doesn't recover no matter what I try (Reset, reboot, etc). No damage to the phone, just broke on its own. Sounds like a manufacturer defect. Sprint / HTC needs to recall this phone.

I'm one of the Product Ambassadors @exitnext and have been carrying the Bolt myself since November. I'm so sorry you're having a problem with yours. I'd strongly recommend you have it looked at in a Sprint Service and Repair location or contact HTC. If you choose to take it to a service and repair location, you may have to pay a fee if you don't have TEP. That being the case, you may want to start with HTC as they're the phone manufacturer and your device is warrantied by them for 12 months (with some additional protection provided by their 'Uh oh!' program for even longer).
When I got my Bolt I used the chat feature to talk to an HTC specialist and that might be the fastest place to get help: https://www.htc.com/us/contact/chat/
I am having the same problem, I've been through 3 phones and now I am having the problem again. Is your phone getting extremely hot? The next thing the screen will go totally black so backup your phone.

I just had the same issue with my phone as well. It was perfectly fine in the morning and then I took it out of my pocket and half the screen was black. I'm doing this reply and hoping that others will do the same in case this is a recall issue. Other issues with this phone is it gets really hot and I'm an uber driver and my internet would say LTE with a full signal and I wouldn't have an internet connection. It would just freeze up. I would have to turn it off and on a few times before it would work again. I took the phone to Sprint and all they could do is a factory restart but I still deal with the same issue. For those like me who didn't get the insurance on your phone, yes HTC does offer a replacement phone but it will cost you of 80 dollars.
My phone just started doing the same thing two days ago. I was able to restart it that first day, but it is not correcting itself. This problem seems to be widespread for the HTC Bolt from the comments I am seeing on this blog (https://theinformr.com/answers/half-of-screen-on-htc-bolt-went-black-4856/) and on youtube (https://youtu.be/1eR5NFDcnvU). I plan to make calls in the morning and see what needs to be done to trigger a recall. I am not going to waste my time and money getting replacement HTC Bolts if the manufacturer is going to take weeks and the replacement is going to break as well.
I am on my 3rd HTC BOLT in 3 months and the repair store told me they will just keep giving me a new one until i get one that works. I am going to switch to Verizon tonight
