I have two unrelated issues and would like some feedback. I tried to sift through all of the threads, but I was not finding what I needed.
First Issue. I usually leave my WIFI turned on - at home, at work, wherever. At home, it works very well. At work, employees are not allowed to connect personal devices to the corporate wifi nor to the guest wifi. If wifi is left on and I am at work, then my Outlook (mail, calendar) will not sync even though I have a solid 3G. After I turn off the wifi, then it will sync. Is there some rationale as why it works this way? Do I have something wrong in my settings? (I just don't always remember to turn off wifi and would rather leave it on. My battery life has not been an issue for me.)
Second Issue. Ever since I got the EVO 3D, the number of dropped calls, low quality connections, et al have risen substantially. Sprint suggested an AirRave which has been installed now for a year. The AirRave has little to no positive impact on the results. Dropped calls are fewer but the call quality is still poor. (Can you hear me now?). All four members of my family have the EVO 3D and every one of us experience the same issue. We finally changed our landlind over to a long distance plan since the Sprint phones were not reliable. I did not have nearly as many issues with my older EVO 4G and my wife's HTC Touch did not have the same level of issues. I have our phone numbers loaded into Sprint's AirRave account info. This week, I finally unplugged the AirRave. We are literally within 2 miles of a Sprint tower, but we have metal siding on our house.
Any suggestions or ideas? I will keep looking throught the forum too.
Thank you for your post and I will be more than happy to address your concerns. Your first issue: when it is in the wifi setting at work are you able to access the Internet at all and only your Outlook is not syncing? Second issue: When you are at home, have you and your family tried to change your roaming settings to sprint /home only and not automatic and see if that helps with the connection to the airave? Also have you tried updating your PRL on your phones settings?

On the 3D's, once you turn on the WIFI, your network connection drops, so you have no data connection just voice. Your best bet is to turn off wifi while at work.
A tip that might help you to connect to your work wifi (if it's the same as mine). I work for a casino in Vegas, and in order for me to connect to the free wifi we have, I have to turn on my wifi, and then open my browser, and press refresh, since the casino uses a third party website to id all IP addresses and Mac addresses.

I also have an Airave, I too have problems with it time to time, a quick restart of the Airave does the trick, also updateing your PRL and Profile (profile once since you added the airave) helps.
I update PRL almost everytime that I go home and my 3D does not connect automatically to the Airave.
Keep in mind, eveytime you are on a call while going home and you come under the Airave, you will always have drop calls, since the Sprint network and Airave doesn't have a smooth transition.
Very important is that you have a 3 green lights, if any of them keeps blinking orange, there is something wrong (unless you are on the phone and the top lights blinks), just reboot it and it's back to normal lol
I have to say, that Airave is great, when it works, but most of the time I have trouble with it too, not the best VOIP router.
I hope this helps ...
