HTC EVO 4G LTE - NOW SHIPPING

HTC shared this statement regarding the HTC EVO 4G LTE:

“The US availability of HTC One X and HTC EVO 4G LTE has been delayed due to a standard U.S. Customs review of shipments that is required after an ITC exclusion order. We believe we are in compliance with the ruling and HTC is working closely with Customs to secure approval. HTC One X and HTC EVO 4G LTE have both received enthusiastic support and we appreciate customers patience as we work to get these products into their hands as soon as possible.”

Here's Information from Sprint:

  • HTC EVO 4G LTE availability

The U.S. availability of the HTC EVO 4G LTE has been delayed.  HTC is working to resolve this issue and appreciates your patience as they work to get products into Sprint channels. With all the heat Sprint has taken over this delay (right or wrong), I can't imagine that they would update our order status indicating that we should receive our phones by 5/24, unless they were absolutely sure they could hit or beat that date.

Everyone did notice the change in the official statement, right? Yesterday it was "Thank you for pre-ordering the EVO 4G LTE. We will do our best to get it to you by Thursday, May 24" and also "Will be out for shipment to be delivered on Thursday, May 24th" and if you read the main announcement now it says "Sprint expects to begin shipping HTC EVO 4G LTE for arrival on or around Thursday, May 24 to customers who pre-ordered the device online from Sprint. My point being, if we do not get it Thursday, Im sure it will be Friday or Saturday.

I wouldn't be too worried. I remember that when I ordered my last phone, they said it would take 2 - 5 days to arrive. To my surprise it showed up the next day. Just be patient a little bit longer my friend.

5/24, 5/25, 5/26, I suppose a couple of days longer is not a big deal.  However, I would have expected that Sprint would have had plans laid, and been ready to move these phones immediately upon release.  Since no one received phones today, that apparently did not happen.  I just hope they are not holding shipments in an attempt to ensure that pre-orders are delivered at approximately the same time.  Based on the ISN blog indicating that devices started shipping the evening of 5/21, some people (based on location) should receive phones by tomorrow.  If no one does, it's likely that Sprint staggered or delayed shipping for some reason.  Just ship the darn things already!

Can you wait until tomorrow to go ballistic if you don't get a email by then ok!Overnight will get it to you by the 24th and stop calling CS like they will tell you the exact time the phone will get to you THEY DON'T KNOW they just want to get you off the bleeping phone.People who ordered for BB,Amazon ,Wirefly etc all in the same boat or worst they are trying ....oh and why don't you send the phone back and next time stand in line. Sorry I just have to get it out.See why I don't work in CS......

Funny just finished having a chat and guess what almost identical response. Everyone is being told the samething "On or Around the 24th" gives them alittle bit of room for whatevers. Too many things to upset the whole delivery process. ("Checks in the mail")  Atleast there in the warehouse. Lets see who is first to get that LONG awaited EMAIL.

Latest update now says, "We will do our best to get it to you BY Thursday, May 24".  It has been changed from on or around May 24.  I guess I will get it when I get it. I just hope there will be no complications activating it.

Update as of 5/23/12:

Thank you for pre-ordering the EVO 4G LTE. We will do our best to get it to you by Thursday, May 24. You will receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking number the moment your new phone ships. We apologize but we cannot support any further cancel requests at this time as our warehouse is processing orders. However, you may refuse shipment or call to request a return kit once you receive shipment.

I just ordered mine on the15th and m8nehas never changed from something like "awaiting procesing at the warehouse. please allow 2 to 5 days for delivery."

Not positive (this is just my guess), but it may be because you were one of the last pre-orders they excepted before cutting off pre-orders because of the customs fiasco. Your order may not be with the first shipment. Then again, I could be totally wrong
