I have the EVO 4G LTE and had been getting a data failure error, so I updated my profile.
The error stopped, but now I am no longer receiving text messages as people send them.
I am able to send them but not receive anything unless I make a phone call.
As soon as I make a phone call, text messages will suddenly appear.
So far text messages as far back as three days will suddenly appear.
I installed the software update and that didn't help.
It sounds as if the system is not recognizing your phone as being on the system. Try powering your phone completly off for three minutes.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds and select power off.
I power my phone off every night for the entire night.
This has been happening for over a week, so it has been shutdown and charged multiple times.
I have also tried the reset and it didn't work either.
Then I would suggest contacting tech support from a phone other than your device so we can update some network elements on the phone. and if needed file a network ticket on the issue
Can I do this at a sprint store with a tech desk?
Last time I called I was on the phone for an hour and a half and got transferred to three different reps..none of whom could help.
The store does not have the same tools that we do and I do not beleve they can do network updates.
