I understand what you mean. I remember when the premium data charge first kicked in for me, when I got my Design 4G. We never even got WiMax in my area, so I never even used it. BUT, the map on that site shows 4G a few streets over from my house. Go figure. And as far as updates go, I always use my WiFi unless I'm forced to do otherwise. I tried to download a 2 MB app a few nights ago on the mobile network and it took 10 or 15 minutes. That was on my new EVO 4G LTE. On my Design, I bet I'd have time to grow a beard before it'd download.

@diagoro - The Sensorly app is 100% user generated. If a user has never mapped an area, it will only appear blank even though there may be coverage. Also with 4G mapping, if Sprint was testing 4G in that area and someone mapped it on Sensorly then Sprint shut off 4G, it will still show it having been there even though its not currently active. Sensorly takes overlapping data and averages it to show the average number of bars.

I feel your pain. 600kbps is suppose to be the MINIMUM downloand speed and, where I'm at, 200-300kbps is very typical.

When coverage is available, experience broadband-like download speeds. The average download speeds range from 400 to 700 Kbps with peak rates up to 2 Mbps. All while on the Sprint network.

^^ that is what they promise as their 3G speeds..youre not quite to the lowest speed..close..but youre still under par...as most of us ...i can easily hit the ranges promised but that is only during non peak hours..soon as i hit peak hours it drops like a rock

So, it's user generated? Well, I can confirm what the map said about my area now. I got a chance to use 4G for the first time when I went to work a few days ago. Just like the map said, there was 4G coverage. I was really surprised when I went to check something on my phone, and there was the '4G' icon on my screen. It's really quick, too. Web pages popped up effortlessly. But, it seemed to slow down when I tried to update a 3 MB app. That took quite a while.

Correct. Carriers use the data to see real world coverage (not theoretical like the maps on their sites). It also helps the user choose which carrier works best for them and helps track network deployment progress.

I was told that in Greensboro, NC that we will be receiving LTE 3 weeks a month ago.  I want to know why is it that the tech reps are lying to customers about LTE in my area because we were told that we were getting it.  I feel so damn embarressed sitting beside my friends who have Verizon and AT&T with iPhone 5's and navigating through there data with no problem and I'm sitting there looking like a fool.

Thanks for posting this! My contract ends in a few weeks and I was wondering about the LTE rollout info for Milwaukee, Wi.

With 0% deployed and all other critera TBD, I will not be signing another 2 year contract as there looks to be little hope they will deploy in that timeframe. Can always come back later but the TCO savings is negated by the slow speeds and backhaul issues here.

I'm curious as to why Cincinnati is such a low priority for Sprint, especially since AT&T just rolled out LTE here (making Sprint the only one of the four major carriers without LTE at this point).

Phoenix, 3%, lol...so basically we'll be getting it around the time they start deploying 5g LTE??? I'm guessing sometime in 2016...what a joke Spring is here in PHX. I've been a Sprint customer since 1997 and I'm seriously considering switching networks, it's PAINFULLY SLOW on 3g here and they keep "promising" it will arrive...

All I want is for LTE to make its way to Omaha, NE already... sigh.

I'm from Houston but in Omaha for school, and it's a rough transition going from having LTE to not having LTE every time I come back from break
