Phoenix, 3%, lol...so basically we'll be getting it around the time they start deploying 5g LTE??? I'm guessing sometime in 2016...what a joke Spring is here in PHX. I've been a Sprint customer since 1997 and I'm seriously considering switching networks, it's PAINFULLY SLOW on 3g here and they keep "promising" it will arrive...

the majority of these upgrades should be either finished or well under way by the end of this year..the smaller outlaying areas will be polished out in 2014...along with the completion of those areas that will get started towards the end of 2013

Indeed I am hugely disappointed in Sprint and the constant lies. Phoenix is a total let down. I was told about 3 years ago by a Sprint employee at the local Sprint

store off of McDowell Ave in Tolleson, AZ that we'd be getting LTE/4G in PHX by the years end. Now I see it is only 3% done 3 years later!!!

I was under the same impression when I had to go in person to get the new phones activated by an online order again at the same Sprint store this time

during November of 2012, that in fact PHX would be getting LTE soon. Sprint only stands for complete liars and thieves. They steal our money and don't

follow up with integrity to fulfill the agreement they set forth to provide their customers with 4G/LTE service. Each one of us are also paying for this service.

This is what the initial $10 3 years ago was for. Sprint changed this around because who knows, but it is a service that we now all pay and it is

just stealing our money because Sprint lies, cheats and steals.

different 4G technology...the one they were talking about 3 years ago was 4G wimax...which was being deployed by a company called clearwire...which almost went belly up...which is also why many of us never got to see 4G...this new technology is 4G LTE...which sprint is doing the deploying this time and is planning on putting it on just about every one of their 38000+ towers...minus about 100-150...which are out in the extreme rural areas and cow pastures and such

Very true, but also very frustrating for Phoenix residents...they "promised" WiMax to us about 4-5 years ago and that never came to fruition (I understand the reasons) and now we will be one of the last large metro areas to green light LTE....all the meanwhile, the 3g network is severely overloaded, almost to the point of being unusable in certain areas at certain times. The other carriers are so much further ahead, it's pretty disappointing.

we were ALL promised wimax...most of us know what happened..i was ticked..but i got over it pretty quickly lol..my area is over capacity pretty bad..i can snap out roughly 1mbps down at 7am...once i hit about 9am i can barely break 100kbps...im still able to pull up FB and stuff like that..takes a while..but its still usable for me..i can live with it until they finally get deployment under way in my areas.. if memory serves samsung is the crew that will be doing my towers..and i cant remember if they work on the 3G side of things first...the 4G...or both at the same time..reason i bring this up is because that is how some of them are doing it..i just cant remember which of the contractors are doing what lol

Just as a note, St Louis, MO must be testing 4G LTE, because for about 5 minutes, I had a 4G.

Location: The Home Depot,‎ 3202 S Kings Highway Blvd Saint Louis, MO 63139

Date: 5/2/13, about 8:03am

Speed: 2.92 Mbps (down), .67Mbps (up), 113ms (Ping)

always possible...i didnt even pay attention and see if that area is even on the list...if its not then it wouldnt be the first area to pop up an LTE signal in an area that nobody knew about getting work

I've been keeping up with this thread, and I plan to continue doing so. As I posted earlier, there is definitely 4G near my house. I live in a small(ish) town about 40 or so miles from New Orleans. I'm shocked that it's here as I have never even seen a Wimax signal for all the years that's I've had Sprint. And that's with travel 35 miles in either direction. There's a downside, though. As is the norm here, the newer side of town seems to have almost full 4G coverage. The older side, which I live on, has next to none. My house is 1 mile away from the main thoroughfare, and I have relatives that are on the newer side and the same distance away from said thoroughfare. I visited them today and had full 4G coverage from the time I was within 1000 feet of that street to the time that I arrived at their house. I had full and continuous 4G the entire time I was there. I left, and lost 4G when I got back on this side about 1000 feet away from that same main street. I'm used to this type of thing now, as it has been this way for as long as I can remember. This side of town is always last in line. But, at least I get to use 4G when I go to work. It doesn't even drain my battery as much as I thought it would. Just putting my two cents in.

eh..the only time i see the old wimax 4G is if i travel a hour and a half or more south of me..thats the closest recorded city with 4G near me..there is a town closer that has i believe one tower lit up that was never put on any maps..but thats a single tower and that location isnt exactly one you would want to hang out in lol

I should update my previous post. For the past few days, I've been seeing 4G on my EVO LTE at my house. I was surprised. It comes in great outside, but inside is another story. And it's inconsistent. Inside or out, it goes back to 3G periodically. And that is painfully slow. Really though, I'm just surprised to have it at all when I read about other more populated and developed areas that still don't have it. I've also been contributing to Sensorly with the mobile app.

i have been having some issues off and on with my data speeds (dropping well below the usual for my location and peak hours)...posted in the forums..naturally nothing showed to be wrong at the towers..working perfectly...i get ready to leave work...wouldnt you know it,... guy working up on the main tower that services me replacing the antennas to the new ones...so much for that tower showing 98% working lol..

sad part was a co worker walked out while i was looking and knocked my phone off the bed rail of my truck and shattered my screen beyond "just deal with it for a while longer " service...soooo now im the proud owner of a S4 lol..

Oh, that's too bad. Good luck with the S4, though. I've really been wondering about that phone since I first heard about it months ago. I saw the HTC One a few days ago, and while it's very nice, I'm not that impressed with its design. I'll have to go and try them both out thoroughly before my next upgrade. By that time though, there'll be a new iPhone or two out.
