So are you confirming that Sprint finally acknowledges this 4G issue? I have spent several very useless calls to tech support where nobody knows anything about it, and more importantly, nobody has taken any note of the issue. No support or trouble tickets, nothing. I haven't spoken to anyone that appears to know anything about the 4G service. So far, I have been told to clear my browser cache, and to "not use 4G"... Really? WTF? The sad thing is so far, the solution IS to turn off 4G and not use it. This is Sprint's "flagship" device, and the phone's biggest feature is also its biggest problem... I hope this is actually resolved before the phone becomes obsolete...
So Sprint does recognize there is a lag issue? And is someone working on a fix. Not looking to hold you down to a date it will be fixed, but some more info would be greatly appreciated.
My EVO, hardware version 3, is not seeing the update when I manually check for it. I read on a forum that it appears to be looking for builds 272076 or 294884, which mine is 252548. Is this update for all EVOs, or for some reason only specific ones?
"looking for builds 272076 or 294884"
That is from a manual update file that was pulled off of HTC's servers. It may only be one of several versions out there. That file checked for those two versions in its script and if it didn't find them, aborted the install. It stands to reason that the older EVO software builds might need more files to be updated. Hopefully, it is just a matter of time and a tiered rollout so the update will land on all EVOs.
Generally they post announcements of updates in the morning and the update is actually made available on the servers later that day or that evening. It probably isn't up there yet. I am on the older firmware (older hardware) and don't see it yet either.
