I have just migrated from a BB to an EVO 4G smartphone. I love the EVO however I can't get the voice commands to work on either the TeleNav or Google applications. Can anyone tell me why this is happening? I sense that this has something to do with my bluetooth on my car stereo, however I never had this problem with my BB. I've upgraded the TelNav app (whichI hate) then uninstalled the upgrade and I still haven't had any success. This is very frustrating!! Please help!!!!
Bluetooth is not just bluetooth - it has to do with what profile a device uses. It has evolved from version 1.0 to version 4.0 = and the profiles have also gotten more complex
List of profiles http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth_profile
You need to see what version/profiles your car system requires and what your phone has - also firmware upgrades on your device in the future may make it compatiable - or you may need to update the car software if that is even a possibility-
Here are specs for the phone-

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. I won't even try to profess any savvy or intelligence in this area but I took yor advice and went to the website for my radio however the only thing I can ascertain is that I have a Parrot BlueTooth module. This is the site that I went to:
I'm not sure what to do next. Perhaps I will try to contact Pioneer to see if they can shed some light on this. All I know is that when I have the BT of the stereo unit off the turn by turn audio commands function properly. When I have my BT headset on it works too!!
