Can we get some more information on this security update? Was the issue with phone os stalling/restarting addressed?
Has anyone received the update already? Im still a little skepticle as to what this update fixes, or even makes worse.
This fixes the HTCLoggers application vulnerability.
does the htcloggers app vulnerability have anything to do with the phone stallgrestart issue being reported on these forums?

No it does not.
Face Palm* -.-
Thanks for the quick reply halcyoncmdr123. One more quick question: Will Sprint be addressing the stall/restart issues being reported anytime soon?

I don't have nay information concerning that. The issue is under investigation, but that's all I have access to.
Does this update also force the Gingerbread update to my phone if I install it? I do NOT want the Gingerbread mess on my Shift 4G, but wouldn't mind getting rid of the vulnerability....
Just wonderful - now the phone reloads when I get an incoming phone call......
This update is a Gingerbread release. Phone updates must be done in the order they are released. If you have not updated to Gingerbread already, this update will not appear for you until you update through the previous versions.
