I am so very happy that I turned OFF the automatic update feature on my phone. I'm still at the 2.2 level and have had none of the issues being discussed here. I also looked on the HTC website, and the updates came from HTC rather than from Sprint. It appears there is no way to go back to the 2.2 from 2.3. So, until someone can tell me that the new (Gingerbread) is fixed, I'll stay with 2.2. I love my EVO. I've had it since October of 2010 and have had no issues with the phone. I even get about 8 hours of battery as long as I don't use anything that needs to use the GPS facilities. My phone is rooted and have deleted all the bloatware, including that dratted Blockbuster app. In the future, I hope Sprint and HTC thouroughly think through these upgrades. I doubt there was any beta or even an alpha test on this one.
I felt the same way, but I was ready for a change. I admit I took a chance, crossed my fingers and everything is now updated to software 2.76.651.6. I am really glad to report, I have had none of the issues I am reading here and on other boards. My phone does not have reload issues or any conflicts with the apps I use. The phone is faster, battery lasts longer, and the phone goes from off to on like a flash. So far I'm really liking the updates......
