Just got an EVO Shift, and like it a lot so far. I notice that when I turn on Wi-Fi, the Wi-Fi icon replaces the 3G icon at the top of the screen. My phone calls are still happening through 3G, not Wi-Fi, right?

Hello!

Well, honestly no. 3G, 4G, and Wifi are all methods to transmit data. While phone calls are digital these days, they are not normally considered to be "data" in the same sense of the word.

In short, regardless if you are using a 3g, a 4g, or even a Wifi data connection, the phone call itself will still use the cell network.

Thanks for clearing that up.
