I am having issues w/ the ActiveSync Exchange w/ my work email.. I can receive emails just fine but can't seem to be able send.
Does anyone have this issue?

Download the TouchDown app from the Android Market. It solved this same problem for me when trying to send mail through my company's MSE 2003 Server. The app costs $10 bucks, but it was more than worth it. You get a 5 day try-n-buy period so you can't beat that.

I don't particularly like the option of getting another app, this a smartphone function and should be available from the initial configuration.
You won't get an error message. The email you send just sits in the Hero's Exchange Outbox. I saw somewhere that the Exchange Active Sync client for Android 2.0 will provide the ability to send email. Until then you're SOL unless you go with a 3rd party app like TD to solve your problem.
