I doubt they cut the price this quickly.  If they do, a lot of people will be getting money back because it will have been within 30 days.

The price of the handset has almost nothing to do with the overall cost of owning a phone. My monthly bill is now less than half what it was when I was with Verizon and the service is just as good.

Sprint could literally charge $500 for the Hero while Verizon was giving it away free-on-contract and Sprint would still be a far better deal.

The Hero is easily worth $180. If Verizon decides to sell it for less (which their ridiculous plan pricing certainly allows them to do) that doesn't change anything at all.

Not only is the Verizon plan pricing significantly higher than Sprint, but if you upgrade with Verizon, your upgrade price is much higher than the price of a new line.
