I have just reported this to sprint network specialists, apparently, it hasn't been reported to them.
If you are having this problem, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE report to upper level sprint representatives. If we all report this problem, I'm sure they will fix it!!! =]
Same here. :((
I have been experiencing the same problem as well. I wish something would be done about it. Also, I wish there was a way to enhance the clarity of the videos on our phone. My friend has a HTC Touch 2 and the you tube videos show perfect on there. It's as if you are watching the videos on a tv screen.
I reported this issue before the holidays and the device team opened a ticket with HTC. Will post when/if I get an status update.
Stopped by to see if it was fixed yet or not. As I suspected, it hasnt been. I turned my Hero in for an Iphone and
YouTube works great. Yes, I see people that dissed me, saying "enjoy that bill" and so forth, but honestly, I just
want the service, heck, Ill pay for it. In fact, I thought I was paying for it and didnt get it!
I really wanted to enjoy the Hero and Sprint's prices, but the service provided was very sub par.
I even sold my Hero on Ebay for $75.00. LOL. Sucker.

Good luck buddy, but I believe the sucker would be someone other than the person who bought your Hero for 75$.

Yeah, I'd have given him a $100 for it...
Please ppl.. hold your horses.
I'm from Sweden and I must tell you that we, android / HTC users are experiencing the very same problem.
Lots of "Google-consumers" has this problem from the very begining of the December. Every HTC device -Magic, Hero - rooted / unrooted and even iPhone owners has the same issue and I could not find one who could figure out what the problem is. Peoples were trying to reset the device, updating the ROM but no changes.

Thanks for the excellent report! Sounds like it may be a YouTube issue.
So it now looks like its a Google problem.
Can you assure us that Sprint will be working diligently with Google to restore youtube functionality?
I can only get videos to play with the youtube app over wifi, otherwise I get an error message. However, I haven't had any problems watching videos straight from the youtube website so I just bookmarked it in the browser.
It is true the browser will work with the flash player, but I'm really into the high def feature of the app. which isnt available through the flash version.
I still think in the back of my mind its an attempt to throttle data usage....
