HTC One M8: Austin, TX Network Issues

I upgraded from an HTC EVO 4G LTE to the new HTC One M8 a week ago, and looked forward to access to the Sprint Spark network that is currently live in my city of Austin, TX.  I have found my 4G coverage to be inferior to the EVO and my wife's Iphone 5 with the M8 struggling to find LTE coverage in the same areas.  3G speeds aren't terrible, but like many others expect our fancy, new devices to run with faster speeds.  I was content with my Sprint service up to this point, but I think network reliability may lead me to another carrier.  That is not a threat, just lamenting over my first-world problem.  Any information on a fix would be appreciated.

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry about the issues you're having. Let me make sure I understand the issue, are you not getting LTE where you used to get it before? What is your zip code and cross streets? Let me know.
Thank you,
Ivan

Correct, I am not receiving the same level of 4G LTE coverage that I used to. 78757 and Allandale and Pinedale Cove. I have updated the network profile and PRL with limited effect.

Thanks for the reply cgn732

I can see where this can be frustrating. Because it is a Sprint Spark device it needs Spark towers, I did look into your area and see that upgrades are coming in the next few months. The suggestion I can give so your phone will work until upgrades are complete is to switch your network to CDMA/LTE. Let me know if you need help doing this.

Re: HTC One M8: Austin, TX Network Issues

cgn732 -- Thank you. I'm not seeing any issues on the tower at this time. Seeing that the other phone(s) in question aren't having any connectivity issues, I suspect that there may be an issue with the phone itself. If you haven't done so already, I would recommend visiting one of our service and repair locations. Re: HTC One M8: Austin, TX Network Issues

This will be good news for some and bad news for others. It's not your phone that's messed up(Good news) it's sprints network(bad news). Their network couldn't handle all of the provisioning commands for the M8 and S5 that went through in the same week. So it killed the Network. BUT mainly just those areas that have Spark availble because Spark wasn't properly tested before it was released. Sprint never fully tests product/services before the put them out just so they can be the one to say we had it first.(just like they did with there version of 4G(wimax) yeah they had it first but when everyone else started their 4G(LTE) the speeds were 3-5 times faster an more consistant than Wimax and of course Sprint had to play catch up.

And now due to the "Spark Network" those of us with a M8 or S5 are S.O.L. until this gets resolved. I've had my M8 for 6 days and couldn't make or receive calls for 3 days and since then I can make a call but any and every call that last longer than 1 minute gets dropped. and internet HA! no facebooking for me unless it's on a wifi signal. The only way to get around this is to get a phone other than an M8 or S5.(although there are several other phones on Spark they work a little better because they were provisioned weeks and even months ago).

Now some M8s and S5s may be working because their provisioning commands made it through before everything went crazy but there are 100 of thousands of phones that did not.And this is only happening on Sprints network, other carries phones are working as designed.

For the recotd I'm not hating on Sprint I have had them for 15 years, I just wanted to let you all know what's going on.
