HTC One M9 software update - version 3.41.651.13
No doubt in my mind that this update caused my Sim to be disabled. Sprint's only fix is a new phone. Other friends on other carriers have had to get new phone numbers. It appears this security update did not have all of the accounts it should have had.
Phone was working fine until an update this morning. Now it sits at the htc one screen when you first turn it one and nothing works. The response I was given was to spend more money on paying this phone off, then buy another phone. Awesome customer service.
I have a feeling many more will join us with this. I have a bud with ATT and they changed his Phone number and the phone started working.
ive been wondering when this one would get mentioned. received it a few days ago..actually late last week but have held off until i see some reports from people on if all went well or not lol.
so there was a mess up on the HTC side with this security patch..good to know..i didnt do it quite yet so looks like i'll be holding off on it still.
if it locked the sim or messed up the sim they couldnt just replace out the sim itself?
They replaced the SIM and that didnt fix it. Its not the actual SIM card. From what I hear from customers of other providers, the android updates sometimes disable numbers. So the only way to fix it is to replace the phone and get a new number.
interesting. there was an issue with the E8 with sending texts...they could no longer do it but could receive them just fine..with them though the update was a larger one since it included the patch as well as an update to MM.
I received this update but it will not complete, it gets stuck at 25% and then gives up. It restores fine back to old version, any ideas how I can get this complete?
you might need to do a cache wipe on your device to get everything freed up but personally i would hold off..there have been some reports of issues with this update so if possible wait until there is word that its issue free or you get reports of others NOT running into any issues. if i hear anything back i will report back into here on what i have found out. until then hold off if possible.
on the plus side im not seeing any reports of issues with the latest update over at Verizon..their phones will be the most like ours..att's and tmo's you cant really compare to ours since the network is even different..so the code would be different as well. have any of you tried to perform a cache wipe or the dreaded FR?
Well since Sprint could not fix my phone, I bought a Nexus 6P and am now a Google Fi customer with the same number. I got the update there and it worked fine. So it definitely something with HTC/Sprint. Good luck everyone.
