What I was just told about the KitKat Update.

What I was just told about the KitKat Update.

Okay...to all of the LG G2 users here, I just chatted with Sprint. I asked about the LG G2 getting KitKat and I was told that by the end of March is when we can except the update to start rolling out to us. There were problems with the rollout to the Galaxy S4s, so our update is being held off until the end of the month. Now granted, this just might have been said to me to appease me and to do a CYOA. But this is what I was told. Hopefully it is true and we will start to get the update then or sooner. Trust me...I'm taking this with ten pounds of rock salt. But hey...better than being told there is no news at this time.

Re: What I was just told about the KitKat Update.

Like I said, ten pounds of rock salt. And I agree with you that since Samsung is the major Android phone manufacturer that is the reason why they got it first.

Re: What I was just told about the KitKat Update.

We know that. The plans are the end of March. But there is no promise that it will be at that time.

Thanks for your question. The price can vary depending on a few factors: Are you eligible to upgrade? Do you want to pay full price, or purchase on installment billing?

You can check out www.sprint.com for devices and pricing for a regular upgrade with a contract, but not for installment billing options.

I'm here for you if you have more questions.

FrustratedinEdwardsville:

The decision is that of Samsung when and to which carrier they will push an update. Sprint is at the behest of the manufacturers in this regard.

I got you. I responding to a comment regarding Samsung getting the update. All manufacturers decide which carrier will get an update and roughly when. In this case, LG decided to push the update to T-Mobile customers first.

Re: What I was just told about the KitKat Update.

Yes. But from what I have been told is that Sprint also had to test it to make sure it works with their network and their own software to ensure compatibility.
