Regarding the netflix sync issue, prio
This update broke Netflix app.
Everything is fine, except netflix or me. I had baseband ZVD and netflix worked great while my wife still has ZVD (froyo) and netflix is fine on hers.
My device now has ZVJ and I will be going back to Froyo. Sorry sprint/Lg team, no go.
Try going into your menu > settings > applications and selecting all and finding the Netflix application, clear out the cache and data; this may cause you to relog into your Netflix account. Let me know if that works please.
I have tried that. I have installed 5 older versions of netflix erasing all the cache and data from every version. I did a complete system wipe through recovery and still no improvement. I have tried running it from SD card and from the phones internal memory. The video is running in slow motion, almost 1/2 speed, while the audio runs at normal speed regardless of program I choose to watch.
This is on wifi and it worked fine before the update and still works fine on my wife's zvd phone on the same wireless network sitting on the same couch running only one phone at a time.
Any one else try this? Is it working for your phone?
Do any of your phones have netflix and do they have audio and video in sync?
FWIW - all four of my phones have now received the update and all are working great. Glad this was finally fixed and done right.
Upgrade went through, and the phone is still basically functional, I guess. Gingerbread is ugly. I feel like I'm using an Atari. Windows does not recognize my phone when I plug in with USB, but at least it will charge this time. I cannot launch admin apps, such as "Manage Applications." The dialpad looks horrible; just numbers with lines --no buttons. I can't power off the phone; I have to remove the battery to reboot. I am so done with Android. My next phone will be a Blackberry or iPhone. Google is incapable of designing and managing a decent OS.
OK... I got the prompt that the update is downloaded to my phone. Hoo-f-ing-ray.
I'm not going to be suckered in like I did the last time with a crap-ware update that causes more problems than it solves. So here's the question: How do I opt out of this update, remove watever data Sprint crammed down my throat without asking, and get my phone to stop asking me every five minutes to install the update that I do not want?
I know that's a tricky question, frought with obstacles of a highly technical nature, but perhaps someone at Sprint can give a straightforward answer which is not laced with the typical, patronizing responses they always do?
"...I'm sorry that you're experiencing...bla bla bla ...customer service specialists recomend that you...bla bla bla...try taking the battery out and bla bla bla..."
Whatever you do, DO NOT DO IT! Below I will tell you why
Yes, it fixed the constant freezing because of the SD card issue, the keyboard is back (which I fixed paying three bucks for one) with predictive text but thats about it. As a result of that I have not gotten the black, frozen android screen where it restarts itself.
~My battery is drained now after 6 hours and barely using it. The first update screwed up my phone so badly but I always had battery for the day. Now I have to charge it by 2pm, and I am barely on it as I am teaching kindergarten all day.
~My phone doesn't even use 3G anymore it constantly has 1x all the time and I have to use wi-fi when necessary which completely drains the battery.
~My sound will be on pretty loud and it will not make a sound when a phone or text comes in. I have to either power it down and turn back on or take the battery out to reset it. Missed many phone calls/texts due to that.
I ignored the update for four days but was tired of having to hit install later so I caved. Do not do it. I am going to go to a sprint store and have them reset it or whatever they do. This was a great phone out of the box and it just got worse after the first update in the fall. I guess I cannot be surprised as this phone is now free at sprint 16 months after paying 200 dollars for it.
I have not received this update yet. When can I expect it to be pushed to my phone? I didn't receive the last update either, I'm still on version ZVD. My phone won't charge and I keep getting SD mount/unmount messages.
I am wondering the same thing? Are we going to be the LAST ONES to receive this "update"? I didn't receive the last update in September '11 either. I am getting BEYOND FRUSTRATED!! The tech support online and at the store seem to not have a clue about the Gingerbread update.
I havent recieved the update eather but after tomorrow when I get my new phone its a samsung conquer 4g im not gonna need to worrie about this updatw n its the manualfacture of LG thats sending out the update not sprint thats y sprint doesnt have much knowalge of the update so with so many LG Optumas S phone its taking them time to send it out to every phone
well i updated my cell, and im STILL having issues charging my cell.
i restart the cell, or take out the battery, it will charge whenever it decides to.
my computer also doesnt recognize it.....man this sucks..
After the fone updated, it will now go into a blank screen when it is idle, or if I do not push the power button to shut the screen down. It will still ring, but nothing comes up on the display! Also, pushing any button on the fone will not activate the display when it does this.
Doesn't do it all the time, but stopping "com.android.dunserver" makes it happen with less frequency. Still does it, just not as often.
Only way to make it go back to normal is to remove the cover, then the battery cover, then the battery.
Tried different settings on the screensaver with no change.
Any fixes, or a way to revert back to the older version which worked just fine for me?
