where do I find the ++ key on the phone, I can only find the volume key, but I do not see the ++ key
I was looking for something else and found this (relates to Optimus T, but should work for you, just replace S for T):
I have another method for you. This method is quite simple and you can easily access the lock password code for your LG phone. Well what you have to do is have a talk with the LG Optimus T phone carrier’s support line. They will be able to provide the unlock code for your phone. Report them that you don’t know your password to unlock the phone. They will ask for the IMEI number of your phone. You have to provide them the IMEI number. In case you dont know the IMEI number then you will get it by typing *#06#. Once they get the IMEI number of your phone they will calculate the unlock code of the phone accordingly. So go ahead with this suggestion it will definitely help you.
There are a couple other ideas at that link, but I suspect this is the best bet.
PS. Only thing I'm not sure of is how you enter that number if the phone is locked, or maybe that works in the password field?
So I guess this does not apply to CDMA phone, only GSM... But I did see this in the "flashing lights" thread (in this forum):
"First, turn the phone off. Then boot up in recovery. I think the combination is Volume Up, Home, and Power simultaneously. Use the volume rocker to get to the reset option, and then press the menu button to select it."
