I just got an LG g6 from ebay. It's locked to Sprint. Works great. It came with a sprint sim.
I tossed that sim, did a factory reset, loaded up ALL the possible android updates (8 or more!) and pulled the sim from my current, working Moto G5Splus (cracked screen but worked on Sprint great!).
Sprint customer service transferred over my service w/o any problem. From
their perspective the G6 is good to go.
Here's the twist:
The LG G6 can make a call and send / receive texts BUT for only about 60 seconds after it boots.
Then it says invalid sim. And an android pop in black about the sim being locked. Then the mobile network in unavailable.
I've done the ##UPDATE and ##BRAND and Sprint is sending me a new sim.
The thing is the old sim was working just fine.
This behavior is repeatable - every time I boot.
It sounds like the SIM isn't completely compatible with the device. You might need to look into getting a new SIM. You can visit any of our stores.
OK thank you. I didn't know that could be a problem. Mainly because it does seem to work for a short while. Is there a method to figure out which sim I should have?
