Hi. I have the same issue. Sprint custom service said it is unlocked.
But the phone cannot recognize my metropcs card, and APN is locked.
I tried update profile or UICC unlock, showed authentication error.

Yes I have sprint SIM.
It is very wired that although the phone is unlocked, when resetting to factory, it still need sprint SIM to finish "configuring your phone".

The Sprint SIM is not needed to finish "configuring your phone". The Sprint SIM is needed to authenticate on our servers to receive the unlock code. PM me your MEID. You too @1Geo1.

@Em_Will_I_Am, anyway we can work some magic over here? I am getting a sim card icon with an exclamation point up top on the notification bar. On the other hand, I still get the authentication error when I try to do system updates. The only difference right now is I see signal bars, whereas before I would see an "X" in their place.
@Geauga0609 Also, if you don't mind me asking, what steps did you take on your end to get it to work? Any tips are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
