Know what security is available with your Novatel Wireless MiFi 2200

We have Mac OS 10.5 operating system and have been trying through system preferences to make our connection secure.  Any help on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

Connect a Mac to the MiFi 2200  Steps to set up MiFi connection on the Mac Leopard OS and the Mac Tiger OS are almost the same, with the exception of a few different windows.
Click the Apple Menu on the top, left corner of the Desktop.

Select  System Preferences from the Apple Menu

Click the Network icon.

Mac Leopard OS

Select: Airport on the left side.
Click Assist me (below).

In the pop-up window, click Assistant.

Mac Tiger OS

Select Airport.
Click Assist me (below).

In the pop-up window, click Assistant.

Give a name to the new Location.
Click Continue.

Select I use AirPort to connect to the Internet wirelessly.

If a prompt tells you AirPort is turned off, click OK to turn on.

When MiFi 2200 is found, highlight and click Continue.
A new window will display the MiFi 2200.
If not, click Rescan.
Enter a password for secure network if necessary.

The next window should ask if the user is Ready to Connect.
Click Continue.
