Fastest Camera in the West - Sprint Product Ambassadors

Sprint Product Ambassador

Camera performance is one of the key things I look for in a cell phone.  It’s always with me, and the always on connection makes sharing photos easier than from the DSLR.  Lately, cell phone cameras have caught up with pocket cameras for image quality, but not often for speed.  Well, the Moto X Pure Edition changes that!

The Moto X Pure Edition offers an easy twist-to-launch gesture to open the 21 megapixel camera.  Opening in under a second, you can fire off a photo by simply tapping anywhere on the screen.  No waiting to focus, no green rectangles to look for, the camera just works!  What’s behind the scenes?  A brand new Sony sensor called the IMX230, it features 21 effective megapixels.  The sensor has 192 integrated phase detection focus points so it focuses nearly instantly.  With this camera, you can get the shot without waiting for the software or hardware to catch up.  Along with the very high resolution sensor, you get a dual LED flash and built in HDR image capture.  The HDR processing is integrated into the camera chip for better contrast and more detail in backlit and dark photos.

The LED flash is another amazing point for the camera – it’s a “color balancing flash”, which means the flash automatically adjusts to provide the correct white balance.  Each of the two LED’s is a different color temperature. The camera checks the color balance of the scene and illuminates the LED’s in order to bring out the correct color tones in the photo.  This even works in rooms with odd illumination, like the harsh orange of sodium arc lights in a gymnasium.
