Does/Will Sprint accept Motorola $100 credit towards a new phone or allow non-Sprint phones to be activated on Sprint network?
According to Motorola Mobility's new CEO Scott Woodside, they will be offering $100 credit towards owners of devices from 2011 that can't/won't be receiving the JB update to purchase new Motorola devices. (http://bit.ly/SojIEh) So will Sprint be honoring those $100 credit? How about will Sprint go as far as allow non-Sprint exclusive phones purchased elsewhere be activated on Sprint's network (given that the phone is CDMA/LTE based) since the selection for existing Motorola devices on Sprint's network is limited?

More specifically, what (if anything) will Sprint do to help any customer that has bought a Motorola phone (Photon 4G) on 2 year contract, now that Motorola has indicated will NOT be recieving any upgrades to the OS? Some of us purchased this device based upon information from Sprint Sales that it (the phone) would in fact be upgraded to the current OS in the coming months.
Or are the options to either A. Suck it up and wait out the next 10+ months, or B. Pay full price for a device that will run all the coming ICS or better apps, not reboot on its own, have the current security features, etc?
The $100 credit is just a pure insult to our intelligence.
The question is why should I buy another Motorola product?
Great hardware but poor support for software upgrade.
The only Motorola product I would buy in the future is Nexus if they ever make it.
