I have called customer service 3 times.  The first rep said yesterday, he was unlocking the phone after keeping me on hold 10 minutes then lying saying it was unlocked.  I called the next day to be told I owed money on the phone, paid another bill that was not due after arguing the phone was paid for. Now I am on the phoen for 15 minutes asking 4 times and they will still not unlock the phone.  I told them the sales tactics are deceptive practices at this point.  Will they ever unlock a phone? Or must you go through a 3rd party?

Hey there! I want to do what I can to help you out. In order to unlock the device, there are certain requirements that it needs to meet, among the most important are:

That the device is unlock capable.

That it is fully paid, meaning that it cannot have any pending contract nor balance.

Never has been reported lost or stolen.

The account last associated with the device must be current. To get information about other requirements, please visit: Sprint.com/unlock.

If the device does meet these requirements, the system won't process the request.

I have had this issue for over a year now! I paid off my contract and phone IN FULL. I paid off the remaining balance of the monthly service. Once I did that I tried to get MY purchased phone unlocked and cancel my service. They "unlocked" MY phone, then re-locked it and now some how I have a new past due balance of over $220. I have tried contacting them, to get transferred to "account specialists" only for no one to ever pick up. I have waited on hold for over 2 hours multiple times, just to get hung up on and never called back. I have tried through chat and they tell me that they cannot help me. That my account is now flagged and I can only call and speak to an "account specialist" that NEVER answers, then just hangs up the line and never contacts me back. So now I have this brand new past due balance, after paying everything off already. All because I cancelled my services and wanted MY PURCHASED phone unlocked. Over a year now. I still can't get the help I want/need. My phone is still locked and they tell me that I now owe them over $220.   All I want is my phone, that I PAID a lot of money for, so I can use it. They won't unlock it and give it to me, and now I am stuck because I can't get anyone to help me and now they claim I owe additional money. I can't get out of this crap with Sprint!

They still will not unlock my phone. I have paid the bill twice. They say that I still have not paid it and are trying to charge me the same $221 again. Then they tell me that they have removed the past due balance, and will unlock the phone. Put me on hold and then pick back up and say the phone has been unlocked. No it hasn't. So I have a $800 paper weight and this "past due balance" that I have paid twice is now hitting my credit report negatively! These assholes are criminals and I wish there was something more I could do, but who has time to sit and argue with people that will never help you? They will just place you on hold and then just pass you down the line to the next agent while they claim to be a supervisor, when in reality they are just sending you from one extension to the next and you never get any where. It is one huge scam! They are ALL criminals and will never actually help you!

Understood, and I'm here to check on this. What's the IMEI number of the device?
