I'm experiencing incredibly slow 3G EVDO speeds in San Francisco.
On my HTC Arrive, I'm averaging 0.15 Mbit/sec. When I run my HTC EVO 3D with the 4G radio off, I'm only getting around 0.2 Mbit/sec. Obviously, this is far from 3G speed!
It appears that the Sprint EVDO network in San Francisco might be overloaded (or lacks the backhaul to support the current usage) -- at night, after 9 PM, 3G speeds jump up to 0.5 to 1.0 Mbit/sec (more consistent with the speeds one would expect from a 3G network).
Does Sprint have any plans to increase data capacity in San Francisco? It's a bit embarrassing for my "3G" handset to perform slower than EDGE handsets on other carriers.
