What exactly is this Network Red Routing add on?

This add-on is some sort of indicator or flag that shows your area is a "low coverage" market.

I noticed that all 5 of my lines now have the "Network Red Market Routing"  in it's add-ons but I am in the middle of Queens, NYC. What exactly is the significance of having this add on, like is it beneficial or bad to have this flag? Also considering I'm in a major city is it really an indicator of low coverage?

I have it too and I live in Manhattan in Spanish Harlem.  Always full signal here and never have issues.
