I just bought an Evo 4G and get excellent service at home in Milwaukee, whether inside or out.
But I just spent a couple weeks at our mobile home about 30 minutes northwest of Tomahawk, WI
(zip code 54487). The exact address is 11191 Old 8 Rd, Tomahawk, WI 54487.
Most of the time while I was inside the mobile home, my phone showed "No Service" but occassionally
I'd get notified of a new e-mail, but was unable to make any calls inside.
When I'd go outside I would be lucky to get even 1 bar of signal. I'd dial the phone, but the person on
the other end said that I was dropping out quite a bit and so were they. The data would be a bit better
than dial-up, but not very stable.
Are there any ways for me to improve my reception?
I had hoped to replace my dial-up internet access with the mobile hotspot on my Evo 4G, but at this
rate I don't think I will be able to.
Unfortunately DSL and cable are not available, only satellite and I am not going to spend $80/month
when I am just up there for weekends or a couple weeks in the summer.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
