I'm wondering if it's just my area but all day I've been roaming and losing service, the roaming beep went off more times today then it has in three months. Does anyone know more about this? I know it stormed this morning.. let me know. Thank you.
I apologize for the inconvenience. There is a network outage at that zipcode:
|Single Cellsite||7859434||At 2011/08/20 22:44:00 we experienced the following Problem(s) in the Chicago : Chicago Market: Single Cellsite (Out of Service) We estimate a time to repair to be 08/21/2011 05:44:00 CST .||08/20/2011 17:44:00 CST||3||Not Cleared||08/20/2011 18:03:05 CST||CH03XC125 NORTH RIVERSIDE IL 60130|
So it looks like it should be corrected later this afternoon.
Again, sorry about the outage and it looks like it should be resolved shortly.
It still hasn't been cleared has it? I thought mine was resolved but it just went into roaming like eight times in the past 15 minutes. And it dropped a call within 15 seconds. When can we expect it to be resolved for good?
Is there somewhere I can go to check the status? A website or something?
Any new updates with this? For all the attention it's getting it sure is taking awhile. I haven't even noticed signs of it quelling.
Also, is it true until the end of August there's no cancellation fee?
I am afraid this is still on going. There are problems at the site where the tower is that are impeding the resolution of this issue that are in the process of being addressed.
I have not heard of anything about cancellation fees for this month, but I am also from our technical support teams, so that might be a question better addressed by one of our retention specialists.
I have been checking the records for this outage. The delay is currently being caused by a difficulty in gaining access to the building where the tower is. At this point our network people are physically unable to get to the tower to continue work on it. They have updated the estimate as a result and it's set for the 31st of this month. I am very sorry about this continued difficulty.
Thanks for the responses. 31st? That's another 5 days.. is that the latest it'll be fixed or the earliest it'll be fixed? I understand this is out of your hands, and I'm not trying to 'shoot the messenger' but will we be getting any sort of compensation for this? I'm sure I'm not the only one who uses their phone for business as well as friends and family.
That is the current estimate that it will be fixed by. It could run earlier or later than that. My personal suspicion is that they have moved it further out than what they might normally, simply because there is an element involved that we do not directly control so they want to account for that.
I do recognize that this is a good while be having these service difficulties. I am not in a department that normally handles credits, but these sort of outages are definitely understood to be a disruption to the service you are paying for and our customer service departments take that into consideration if compensation is requested for this trouble. I know our people in Customer Care normally request that you wait until we have the issue fixed so they can look at the entirety of the problem and go from there.
I will stay monitoring this thread for you and have setup a reminder to check in on this for you next week. If it works before then great, otherwise I will keep you updated. Once this is cleared up, I'd be happy to contact you to make sure that it's noted in your account that you did your part on this outage in reporting your service troubles.
