Any word from Sprint on it's launch of an 800MHz CDMA network? Since the HTC Evo3D has support for the 800MHz band, the launch can't be too far away. Any news?

No, it isn't. Sprint's CDMA network is currently 1900MHz only. The handsets include 850MHz for roaming purposes. Sprint's iDEN network (Nextel) uses 800MHz SMR spectrum which is different from the 850MHz spectrum that carriers like Verizon utilize. As Sprint progresses with the 800MHz rebanding task, they're going to be transitioning that spectrum from being used by iDEN to CDMA (and eventually LTE presumably). However, in order for end users to get the benefits of Sprint using 800MHz SMR for CDMA they will need new compatible phones.

Keep an eye on the Sprint Network Vision info center -- we're working on rebuilding the network to use multimode multiband antennas that will include 800mhz:
