Very Slow 3g Data Speeds -- you too ?

54311 is my zip

It shows on Sprints map that we had 8 upgrades in my area but 3g speeds are slower than dailup.  If I'm not on wifi then my data on my phone is unusable.  I've been with Sprint for almost 8 yrs but I've been thinking about jumping over to Verizion once they put out a family plan. Slow speeds plus account being jacked and price going up... Verizion is looking better everyday.

I live in Noble, OK just outside of Oklahoma City.  I constantly get horrible 3G speeds.  Sales person at Sprint store in Norman sold me the EVO 3D stating we had 4G coverage in Norman, OK and Oklahoma City, OK.  There is 1 tower and it has about a 5mil radius and that is it.  Do not switch to Sprint if you are reading this.  They have a horrible voice network and very very slow data network.  Also as of March 1st they are making most of my state Roaming so that they no longer have to offer "Unlimited" services!

I am in Atlanta and I have grown sick of the dialup 3g speed.  I mean it was getting bad, but towards the end my download was averaging .10-.20mbps I have been with Sprint since 1999 and finally ported out to Verizon.  The difference is night and day. My 3g speeds average 1.5mbps and my 4g is 20mbps.

Like others, I was happy with unlimited but what good is it when your unlimited is useless.

In some areas locally I get as much as 350 kilobytes/sec down on 3G. Fantastic!

However, in other areas, including on my campus...

Re: Very Slow 3g Data Speeds -- you too ?

Interesting, I travel throughout Atlanta and found it to be fairly speedy in most places where only 3G is available.  Obviously I have a 4G device and I don't drop to 3G that often but when I do it really hasn't been an issue.  Atlanta and parts of FL have been pretty good considering all the issues Sprint has had in other parts of the country.  Add the fact Atlanta will be one of the first Sprint LTE markets and I'd say Atlanta is one of the better Sprint markets.  Now Las Vegas and CA ... shiver.  Not good at all on 3G.

Cheers,
