Data Connection Issue: Searching For Service

For nearly a month now my data connection randomly goes out and says Searching for Service with no data bars. I've contacted numerous chat specialists about this, some who basically just gave me the run around asking obvious questions like did I restart my phone and try removing and reinserting the sim card. Usually I'm transferred to a tech specialist and have to wait forever for one to become available to even try to assist me. Two reps "guaranteed" they had resolved my issue and claimed I would not have to contact you again regarding this matter which unfortunately turned out to be false. No rep can find any issue with my phone (Samsung Galaxy S7). A network ticket was opened regarding this issue, ticket #214066-180613. Ticket support was no help at all. I was told it was sent up for further review but am still experiencing the same issue. Another chat specialist informed me that he sent the issue to the CTMS ticket team for further review. He believed the issue to be that somehow my phone was updating by itself and disconnecting from the LTE network. Through his troubleshooting, he assured me that he had resolved the problem but 3 days later it occurred again. The Sprint reps I've spoken to have told me that the data is good in my area and have checked my cross streets and zip codes. The issue is not location specific. It happens when I'm at home as well as when I'm out. I live in Chicago so you'd think the service would be great in such a major city. Nearly each rep has had me reset the profile, prl, and dial ##72786# to reset network settings. They've refreshed and updated my phone from their end, all to no avail. This will work for a few days then randomly my data will go out again. One rep even told me to just reset it whenever the data goes out. That has proven to be a temporary fix, not a permanent solution and is completely unacceptable. I shouldn't have to constantly reset my network settings and still worry that my data will randomly go out at any given time. I pay for unlimited data, not intermittent. Not once did a rep offer any type of credit to my account for the frequent data outages. I expect to receive the service that I pay for. The fact that this issue is recurring with no clear resolution is making me seriously consider switching providers. I've been a loyal customer for years and until this problem began last month I was satisfied with my service. After the last rep failed to help me last night, she actually tried to sell me on a phone upgrade since this one is paid for. Why would I want to upgrade my phone when I'm not being provided with the service that I'm paying to receive? I feel like I have been very patient considering I've been dealing with this for nearly a month now. With every rep and specialist telling me there is nothing wrong with my phone, this has to be some type of error in your network. This is very frustrating and I'm hoping a solution can be found asap. Your help in finding a resolution would be appreciated.

then info will be needed from the other poster if the agents already have yours.

I have the same problem.  I bought the Sprint service with LG phone 2 weeks ago.  The service connection constantly drops.  I am in Cape Coral FL.

are there any other Sprint phones around you?

does it improve once you leave that area by say 5 or more miles?

zip code and closest cross streets are needed so the agent can look at a specific tower for issues and work their way out from there.

Hey Bdulmaine1515. Can I get your zip code and the nearest cross streets? If you aren't comfortable popping that in a public place, shoot me a PM with that info and I can start taking a look at the towers in your area to see if there is anything going on.

Also, as fireguy asked, is anyone else on Sprint (that you know of) having these same issues? Is this happening in one particular location or multiple? Is it happening inside and outside?

I've been experiencing the same issue for a month now. I noticed it because my sister who lives in PA mentioned it, but then I realized that's why my facetimes calls were being disconnected because the data would intermittently cycle out.  I live in Tulsa, Ok. 74012. She has an iPhone  8, and I have an iPhone 8 plus, both with latest IOS.

I can give you more details, but I don't think it would be helpful since the issue isn't related to a phone or a location.

I'd just like to know whats going on.

Zip is 33990.  Del Prado Blvd.  Im taking this phone to Sprint store where I bought it tomorrow.  Frustrating.

Bdulmaine - I'm not seeing any tower issues in your area. Let us know if you have any issues after your visit in the store.

NathaninOk - I checked in that zip code and there is a tower down along with another that recently went back up. Are you only having connections issues when running a FaceTime with your sister, or slow data in general all over the area?

Some general things you can do on your iPhone 8 that might help you out:

  1. Tap Phone icon.
  2. Tap Key Pad if necessary.
  3. Enter ##873283# then tap Call icon.
  4. When Starting Service Update appears, tap OK.
  5. When Service Update Complete appears, tap OK.
    • The radio will reset.
    • When Sprint displays in the top left corner, the iPhone update has completed
  1. Tap Phone.
  2. Tap Key Pad if necessary.
  3. Type ##CLEAR# (##25327#)
  4. Tap Call.
  5. At the Resetting Subscriber Settings prompt, tap OK.
  6. Allow the radio to reset

Thanks for the help.  It happens  not only in that zip. I was on a FaceTime call last night in downtown Tulsa and it happened there last night.  It’s too spontaneous to diagnose and it happens to frequently for towers to be down all the time.  Unless that’s what it is.

Is this only happening with FaceTime calls or are you having data drop outs when browsing the web or using data otherwise?

Browsing the web.  Not much call usage yet so I dont know about that.

Has this been happening recently or has it been an going issue for some time? Is it overall slow speeds or are you losing signal altogether? I'm curious what your speeds look like from a speed test perspective.

It happens other times too because I’ll notice it while using an app.  I’ve notice it for about a month or at least because my sister in philly said it so maybe more.    I think i read this happened to iphone last year so i was hoping this issue was more documented with you guys and that it was a service update issue or an iOS issue.
