No Mobile Data after device activation

Hi all, 

 

I activated a new BYO device several days ago (and deactivated the old device through that process) and I am not receiving Mobile Data. Calls and Text work fine, but after several days and many power cycles, I still do not see any improvement. Sometimes I will see a SprintDM configuration notification after a restart, but that goes away without anything happening. The "new" device is an unlocked Google Pixel XL that was bought from Project Fi (so I know it works on Sprint) and has been cleared from Project Fi (which allowed the activation process).

 

Does anyone know what is going on? Any help will be appreciated!

You stated you have power cycled. Have you updated the data profile and reset the network settings?

Yes, I reset the network settings and followed the steps here to update PRL and device config in SprintDM. I did these both with wifi on and wifi off, but I still do not get mobile data. 

 

The status indicator (when dropping down the quick shortcuts) for Mobile Data says "LTE", but there is no "LTE" next to the signal indicator on the status bar and the device is unable to connect to the internet.

The steps should be done off of WiFi. To verify, you updated the data profile first and then reset the network settings?

That makes sense, so I did both: first attempted to run PRL and config update without wifi, and when that didn't work, I attempted with wifi.

 

I tried to update PRL/Device Config after a Network Reset.

Doing that now without Wi-Fi. I just ran update device config and it's been on "Configuring your device for voice and data. Please wait..." for over a minute now. Should it take that long?

 

I'll report back after I do the Network Reset (or if the pop-up doesn't go away).

It can take a bit, especially if the coverage isn't full.

I did a soft reset and am trying to Update device config again (wifi off). It's been on the pop-up for a couple of minutes.

 

The device is an unlocked Google Pixel XL.

This is the set of steps you're doing? 

 

Update data profile - Google Pixel XL

  1. From the home screen, swipe down the Status bar. Note: The device must be in a Sprint coverage area to update the Data Profile. ...
  2. Tap the Settings icon.
  3. Tap More.
  4. Tap Cellular networks.
  5. Tap Carrier settings.
  6. Tap Update device config.
  7. Once the update is complete, tap OK.
  8. The data profile is now up to date.
