I was driving on I-40 eastbound and when I crossed the border from New Mexico to Texas the signal dropped from LTE to 3G to 1x. It obviously couldn’t find a tower close enough. My Phone is an iPhone 8 Plus on a window suction mount. So it had good view of the horizon. I was using it for navigation.
That is never good! Our coverage is always updating and growing. If you give a more specific location I can check I can check to see if there is a tower near there or not?
Thank you for that. Unfortunately I need more of a specific location in order to look up the towers.
We don't have a tower right there. You can enable roaming and it will connect to the nearest tower. Cell providers use each other's towers to cover larger areas.
Do you live in this area or were you just driving through?
Do you have service at home?
Yes, in SoCal you have decent coverage, except near the Redlands, CA Mountain Grove Shopping Center. That’s a dead zone for some reason. Even though it’s right near the highway and you guys usually cover them better.
I live in Highland, CA and work in northern San Bernardino, CA at California State University, San Bernardino.
I was was heading to Oklahoma City area to visit family and hit a dead spot on I-40. Just wanted to report it so you guys can fix it.
Thank you for the information. We'll keep note of this area, for when we start putting in more towers.
