R850 signal dropping and connection resetting over and over

live in 45068 zip and the 850 has been fine. get around 25mbps all the time.

 

starting last week, we now get constant dropping of signal and resetting of connection whenever any load is put over the line.

 

any speed tests now run at 2 mbps IF the line can stay up long enough to measure.

 

anyone have any ideas???

btw, i have updated the PRL and data profile. firmware is also up to date.

I checked the zip code, and towers seem fine. What are your nearest cross streets? That would give me a better look at the towers around you.

Furnas-Oglesby Rd and Corwin Avenue on State Route 73.

Let's try to update the data profile of that Hotspot, 

 

    1. On a computer that is connected to the hotspot network, open the web browser and enter http://MyHotSpot in the address bar.
    2. Press Enter.
    3. On the web management portal screen, click Settings.
    4. If prompted, enter the administrator password and click Login.

Note: The default password is password.

  1. Click Device to expand the device category.
  2. Click Software Update.
  3. Under Device Updates, click to select Update Data Profile, then click Update.
  4. Once the update is complete, click OK if prompted

i updated this as well as the PRL. i also have done a reset using the button under the battery cover.

 

it connects at 4 bars and seems great. then, when you try to run any sort of speed test, it gets huge latency/long ping times and drops the line. i will see a no-service message on the device.

 

it will re-connect and look fine. pings to 8.8.8.8 run around 50-60-ms. run a load test and they run up to over 1,000ms and then the line will drop. i can never run over 2 mpbs sustained.

also, i have a BOOST Mobile phone on LTE (Sprint).

 

a tether test multiple passes shows...

- the line speed at 5 mbps down and up

- line speed at 30 mbps / 6 mbps.

For help with Boost phones you will have to go through Boost.

i just posted those BOOST findings to show that another device is communicating with Sprint towers and how it performs.

is there a simple way to swap out the SIM in my current R850 and put into a replacement unit?

 

i should have another R850 today.
