Nexus One for Sprint - Meet the Nexus One!

In a recent press release, Sprint announced that the Google Nexus One would be available on our network.

Here’s the release: Sprint Nexus One Press Release

As of this post, details on pricing are not known – neither is availability for the device. In the release, it was made clear that Nexus One would be available directly from Google at Despite these things, I wanted to take this opportunity to share some really excellent facts, news and video about the Nexus One.

Please take a moment to watch each of these short >5 minute videos. They’ll give you some exciting insight into the concept, design, and functionality the device has to offer. It also gives very helpful insights into how ideas for phones come to life, tested and manufactured. Very, very cool stuff. The last episode called “Day one” is a great example of device convergence and how a majority of customers use smart devices.

Episode 1: The Story: Concept & Design

Episode 2: The Story: Display and 3D

Episode 3: The Story: Testing

Episode 4: The Story: Manufacturing

Episode 5: The Story: Day One

After you’ve watched these, I would hope you feel a sense of excitement and empowerment to tell the world “something” about the Nexus One – an elevator speech if you will. I know I got really excited and have been tweeting, blabbing, emailing this stuff out to everyone I know.

For this device, there are some great videos in the Nexus One channel on YouTube we can all leverage and communicate when needed. One of the simplest and most common questions about a phone is how to set it up. I'm not talking about programming, that’s easy on our network. I’m talking about setting it up for the user. Check this video out and think about how you, as a customer, would leverage this:

There are also a myriad of other videos for using search, using the voice recognition pieces of the phone, how to customize, using Gmail…the list goes on and on.

I have to say I am extremely excited and pleased with the announcement and can’t wait to keep updating this post and adding more details and tips / tricks as we get closer to launching the Sprint version.
