Sprint Product Ambassadors: Read before Considering Windows 10 Technical Preview for Lumia 635
So undoubtedly, many Windows Phone users have heard some exciting buzz surrounding a technical preview of Windows 10. It's Ok to be honest and know your sense of adventure overwhelms you. With Microsoft adding the Lumia 635 to the Windows Insider roster, it's even harder to resist being a part of this opportunity. However, as your product ambassador, I still have to speak up and issue a few personal words of caution. Remember, Microsoft issues this just how it's stated, a "Technical Preview". Please read all disclaimers carefully and understand, there's the limited support provided during this period. Although there are plenty of cool new features to try out, the presentation isn't finalized and there still quite a few features sacrificed during this evaluation. From the Microsoft site, pay extra attention to the "What features are missing in Technical Preview?" and factor that into any decision you make. Understand things like the windowsphone.com portal may not be linked fully once moving to the Technical Preview. Thus, it's sometimes better to hold off till the launch is official. Microsoft's commitment is there one year after launch you'll have ample opportunity for an OS upgrade. It's nothing more than my opinion but the best things come to those who wait. Especially with an exciting device such as the Lumia 635 on Sprint, familiarizing yourself with a full set of Windows Phone 8.1 tools only gets you fully ready when Windows 10 finally comes over. My blogs for certain will highlight many of those Windows 8.1 features that will only get better as Window Phone develops. Till then enjoy the Windows experience.
