Why is there a limit on roaming to 800 minutes n why can we have unlimited roaming

Roaming is limited because every minute that is used while roaming on another carrier's network costs Sprint. So the more calling you do on another network, the more Sprint has to pay that other carrier for the usage. In turn the company's profits decrease.

Roaming is free with most current plans, but you are limited to either half of your minutes, or 800 minutes, whichever comes first. If you go over the limit once in a while nothing will happen, you are still not charged for the usage. However if you are consistently using a majority of your minutes while roaming Sprint can disconnect your service.
