Trade-in gone wrong

I was excited that Sprint was offering a very good trade-in value for my Apple 7Plus, so I could upgrade to an Apple 12.  Unfortunately, they have declared that my 7plus was damaged, and would not offer me any trade in value, nor would they return the phone.  There was no damage to the phone when it left my house, and was fully functional without even cosmetic blemishes.  I have no recourse to have the "damage" independently verified, so I'm left with nothing.  Be very wary of sending in a trade-in, good chance you will get nothing in return when you may have been able to sell the phone on the open market.

Exact same problem.  My iphone 8 was in perfect condition when I sent it to them in the cardboard box they gave me.  Now, they're saying it had water damage and trying to charge me $30 a month for the iphone 12 mini.  Absolutely ridiculous.
