How to Activate Pixel 4. Doesn't need SIM Card, uses eSIM.
I just wasted half a day trying to activate the new Pixel 4 that I bought from Sprint.com
When it came, it said to take the SIM card from the old phone to the new one.
That is not correct. If you try to do so, you get a message about the SIM card being locked.
If you try to activate the phone on Sprint.com, you will see that it already has a SIM card associated with it. It turns out this is an eSIM card.
To activate, go to Settings> Network> Mobile Network on your new phone and it prompts you what to do. Make sure that you still have the old phone working as you may need to enter a confirmation code after you log in to your Sprint account on your new phone.
Do NOT waste hours like I did trying to activate your phone from your Sprint account or by moving the old SIM card from your old phone to your new phone.
I also spent two hours speaking with Sprint support and they told me the only way I could do this is by going to the local Sprint store. Since this is worse than a root canal, I am glad that I didn't have to do that in the end.
