Hi I paid off my iPhone weeks ago and this has yet to be reflected in my account. I want to change to a new carrier but am being held hostage at sprint. How can I rectify this issue?

I am trying to take my phone to another service. When I put in my IMEI numbers it says the phones are still under contract and can't be brought over. The phones are paid off and there is no contract. Not sure what to do.
