Have you seen any of these errors?

There is any easy fix for this.  If you go to Setting -> Apps -> 3 dots in upper right -> show system apps -> Edge Screen -> Storage -> Clear Data.  I have seen reports that Samsung pushed an update and then pulled it before most phones could take it.  Clearing your data on the edge panel should resolve this issue.  It will not reset your edge panels or customization that you may have setup.  Let me know if this doesn't work.

Here are 2 of my favorite tips and tricks you may or may not know about.  I hope you learn at least one new trick!

How to change masks on the Iris Scanner

I love the feature of the iris scanner but Samsung has taken it a little further by adding comic like overlays.  Simple go to settings -> Lock screen -> Iris Scanner -> Preview Screen mask.  Have fun with the choices you have.  If you haven't set this up before I have attached a video to help.

Have you ever wanted to make your own animated Gif?

Well with this option you can make your own.  First please go to your edge screen to make sure you have the "Smart Select" edge panel selected and enable.  Go to Settings -> Display -> Edge Screen -> Edge Panels.  when you go to netflix or youtube or any app that plays video activate your edge panel smart select.  Find the Animated Gif button and it will give you a box.  please play on the video and start recording when you want.  Then stop and there you have it.  I couldn't find a way to put the one I did here so I will put another tutorial.

I hope you try these options and find them as much fun as me.

I like to try out a couple cases to find out which I really enjoy the most.  I'll go over the cases I have tried so far and what I liked and disliked of each.

First I purchased the Samsung Galaxy S8 plus Zizo case.

61g6sZZNIaL

This is a very rugged case.  It also comes with a tempered glass cover.  The problem is the face of the phone is curved so the tempered glass screen protector doesn't sit right.  the glass lips up and never lies flush on the screen.  I had to removed the screen protector completely.  The case on its own is a strong case.  The one thing I worried about was if my wireless charger could reach through the case.  But it does and with no issues.  I like the case, it is the sturdiest and toughest off the cases I have tried.  But, my preference is with the slim case that offer good protection.  This checks the prtection but by no means the slim part.

Second case is The easyacc Samsung Galaxy S8 plus case

I chose this case due to slimness and wanted to try the kickstand/ credit card holder.  Firstly the case is slim and I like that.  The credit card holder will hold one credit card.  Although it is a very tight fit and you will fight to put the card in or retrieve it from the case.  The line design on the sides and back do not provide an optimal gripping surface.  I have dropped my phone twice due to a slippery side.  Due to this I cannot recommend this case.

Third and last case, the Spigen Samsung Galaxy S8 plus case.

I have always loved Spigen cases so had to try one.  It checks my first box of being slim.  and offers duel protection with a harder plastic bumper.  Looking at the shininess I was worried about having the same issue with it being slippery.  But it actually is the opposite.  It creates a great grip and fits well in your hand.  Of all three cases I feel like this case checks the most boxes.  It is slim check, it is tough check, it fits just as well in my hand as in my pocket check.  My final verdict goes to the Spigen case.

I absolutely love the Camera on the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus.  When I take pictures I don't use filters or change the picture at all.  With some cameras in the past you have to use filters to clean up weaknesses the camera may have.  With the Samsung Galaxy S8 plus you want the pictures as pure as possible.  I love taking day or night shots with this camera.  As you will see even night photos with flash turn out great!  I hope you enjoy these pictures and hope to see some of yours.

This picture was taken at a restaurant from about 20 feet away and zoomed in.  This is a great picture to show you dim lighting and zooming.  You don't lose much in deatil with the lightening.  The zoom keeps it all tight and not pix elated as well.

This picture was taken at night with the flash on.  You keep all the detail and it still pops when looking at the colors.  This is a night blooming cactus flower.  The flower you see here has a life span of about 8 hours.  It opens up and blooms at midnight and closes and dies when the sun comes up.  So pretty excited to see it open one morning when leaving for work.

I did use a filter on this one I am guilty.  I wanted to see a nostalgic looking photo.  We have a diner near our house where our family goes for desserts.  So I wanted to see a black and white picture of just a cup of coffee.  I love how it brings out the wood grain in the reflections.

These two pictures are night and day of the same picture.  Wanted to compare and contrast the differences between images with different lighting.  I think we can agree both turned out fabulous.

I took this picture this morning.  It was foggy in my neighborhood and wanted to see how the camera picked up subtleties in the fog and background.  Again the camera does exactly what I think it could do.

Every camera that Samsung has in their phones I keep thinking "There is no way it can get better".  I keep finding out there is.  Every new phone Samsung comes out with their camera never fails.  I am what you call a Sammy sheep for more than just the camera but come on you can't blame me.  I hope you enjoyed and hope to see some of your awesome pictures as well.
