I've tried calling in twice with absolutely no luck. My Samsung S8's software become corrupted two weeks after I got the phone, in September.... I went to my local sprint store to try and get it fixed, they suggested i send it to Samsung. I sent the phone to Samsung, they held on to it for a month before sending it back to me with a note asking for a proof of purchase in order for them to make repairs to the phone. I've called twice to Sprint, explaining this whole situation, and have been told to wait 8 days and that the proof of purchase would be emailed to me. I still haven't recieved anything, I've checked the spam folder, etc. What do I need to do to get a simple proof of purchase so that I can have my phone repaired? I'm still paying monthly for this phone even though it's been broken for months. Is anyone able to help?
I purchased the phone online through BestBuy. I've already called them, and have explained to me that since it was a Sprint promotion, they wouldn't be able to produce this document for me. The proof of purchase needs to have an IMEI number with my name and account apparently.
Hey hcmlavigne. Since you bought the device at BestBuy, you will have to visit a BestBuy store for the Proof Of Purchase.
I bought it online, without making an account with BestBuy. When I called BestBuy and explained the situation, they told me Sprint would only be able to handle it. I'll try it out though
Yes, but the proof of purchase that Best Buy has does not inlcude the EMEI number of my specific phone, which is something that Samsung Repair specifically asked for. Best Buy claims that Sprint would have that number on some sort of document that I could hand in to Samsung. Every time I've called Sprint, the person on the other line assures me that they do indeed have that number on a document and they'll email it to me. They take my email down, I have them repeat it back to me alfa-bravo-charlie style to make sure it's correct. Then they tell me it'll take 8 business days to get to me, and it just never does.
I just called Best Buy, and they were only able to produce a receipt of my purchase, but it doesn't inlcude the EMEI of the phone.
There is a SKU and model number on the receipt they gave me, but nothing close to the EMEI. They had a specialist try to see if there was any sort of document they had with the EMEI that would connect with my purchase, but there just wasn't. They claimed that Sprint would be the best bet for that. And every time I've called about the issue to Sprint's 1-800 number, the person on the other line says that they do have that document, but I just never recieve it. I was hoping a representative would see this post and just be able to send it to me again.
Hey! Let's take a closer look into this. I would like to take a look at the order number for further investigations. I've sent you a private message, please check your inbox.
