Sprint treatment of Longtime Customers

I'm a longtime customer (20 years?). I recently wanted to upgrade my Samsung S7 to an S9+ as I saw that I could do it for for only $14 per month. Great deal...NOT. It is only for new lines of service / new customers. Loyal customers get to pay $35. I'm sick and tired of Sprints focus on only getting new customers and treating loyal customers like dirt. All phones on my family plan are paid off now so I will be leaving sprint if I can't get an honest reply to: WHY do not like longtime loyal customers?
