I need to know why I am receiving this error message on my phone and half of the time I am not sending text messages? It is quite annoying and I don't know how to stop it. Can someone please send some advice my way? I have the Samsung Epic 4G and this has been going on for about a month now!!!
Hi MICHELLEMOSS0, http error 500 is not typically something you will see associated to MMS, what are you doing when the phone presents this error, do you have any apps installed that interact with the browser, email, or messaging?
All I do is just clear the error mesasge! I dont know what else to do? I had not added any new apps before this mesasge kept popping up? It's like the phone is either trying to send/receive some sort of media or something without me initiating the action? And when I get a regular text (no media) from some people, i will get the error message and they are not trying to send anything but text messages...?
In that case I would suggest resetting your phone, if you have any task killers or security software installed you may wnat to try removing those first to see if it helps, If not, then I would suggest using an app like handy backup to backup test before the reset, and also check to make sure all of your contacts are safely stored within your gmail account. You may reset the phone from menu>settings>privacy. After resetting your phone test it by sending a test to your self then send a picture to your self, this will test sending and receiving of sms and mms to see if the message continues to show up, if it does then you may need to call into tech support to reveiw the situation & look over your account.
Ok! I have narrowed it down to just a few of my contacts!! I seem to be getting the MMS error from them even though they are not trying to send me any media (pics or vids). For some reason when I get a text from them it comes through as MMS as opposed to SMS? In one case, I have to 'download' the text message even before I can read it?? This is getting to be annoying as heck. Called support and of course, no help. Even when the phone is sitting idle, I will get a notification that MMS is failed! When I tap on the error message, it takes me to my text message menu and there is nothing that has come in!!! It will happen about 5 or 6 times before it stops. Each time I will just clear the error out and wait for it to happen again. This is BULL!!!!
hello again, that certainly paints a different picture for the problem. what type of phones are they sending from. this may help us get the answers we need.
I have a similar issue. Mine occurs when i receive a text message from a friend who has a Blackberry. He is the only one i receive the error message from. Even after i receive his message i continue to receive the MMS failed message.
