Actually the G2 also boosts its scores. They found it boosted antutu and Vellamo. Its just not samsung that does it. Nexus phones, Apple, and Motorola were the only ones (out of the major companies) that didnt boost scores.
It is misleading because benchmarks are there to test a devices usage under normal conditions vs other devices. If it treated the benchmark apps the same as other apps then it wouldn't be a problem but when it locks onto its highest power setting for benchmark apps . You don't get a good idea of how it would preform normally , just what it's capable of. Plus when all the other phones treat the benchmark apps normally and the note 3 hits the NOS It's not an accurate comparison between the two devices. I am not saying that the Note 3 isn't the fastest device out because it beats the lg g2 s800 without the CPU power mode enabled but when it has it on ,it devastates the g2 which was the cause for concern because they both have the snapdragon 800. Which is unfair to the g2 because it's not giving its all
It's doesn't create anything miss-leading. How is showing the true power of the phone miss-leading?? It's not cheating period. Do you understand what the definition of cheating is?? It's not called boosting scores either.. I don't understand why you kids are so butthurt about it anyways.
This creates misleading results and makes benchmarks useless and skewed towards those OEMs that give them special preferential treatment. This is cheating, plain and simple. Doing it to video player and gallery apps is one thing, but doing it to benchmark apps specifically to boost scores is dirty.
It's not "boosting". Everyone is blowing it all out of proportion. All it is doing is showing the TRUE power of the phone, what it's CAPABLE of. It's not cheating or boosting.
What does this mean: "Restriction to benchmark sites removed"?
Are you saying that it's no longer boosting benchmark scores, as reported by Anandtech and Ars? Or what is this saying? I'm confused.
